George Washington "GW" Leggs

George Washington "GW" Leggs, 79, of Holly Springs, died April 17, 2023, in Southaven.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from ICS Headstart.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on April 28 from 4-6 p.m. and on April 29 from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Father David will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his daughters, Bridgette Jones of Charlotte, NC, Trina Bland-Smith, Tressa Bland, both of Southaven, Lady Bell Harris of Jackson; sisters, Ruby Taylor of Holly Springs, Lillian McEwen of Springhill; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lovely Leggs, Calvin Leggs, Mary Foster, Orlando Leggs, Coleman Foster, Victoria Leggs, Chester Foster, Louvenia Leggs, Lannie Mae Foster Scott, Richard Foster, Hazel Leggs, Lenora Foster, Semettie Leggs, Cornelia Leggs Vinson and Roscoe Leggs.
