George Thomas Stanton

George Thomas Stanton, 87, of Potts Camp, died Jan. 9, 2017, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a farmer.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 12 at Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, where he was a member. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Melba Faye Stanton; three sons, Jimmy Stanton (Bonnie) of Potts Camp, Jacky Stanton (Louise) of Hickory Flat, Gary Stanton (Leslie) of Potts Camp; a daughter, Pamela Anderson of Potts Camp; a brother, Johnny Stanton of Hickory Flat; four sisters, Bernice Lemons of Potts Camp, Rachel Vanzant, Irene Pipkin, both of Hickory Flat, Joyce Clifton of Potts Camp; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Madison McGregor.
