Gary Delona Brown Sr.

Gary Delona Brown Sr., 73, of Holly Springs, died July 22, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North in Oxford. He was a member of Bell Grove MB Church in Clarksdale, and a 1973 graduate of Rust College. He was a teacher and coach at Rosa Fort Elementary and Junior High, a scout master for Tunica County Boys Scouts, and a counselor for Tunica County Community Center. He retired in 2009 from the Tunica County School System.

Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. on July 26 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home with family visitation from 6-7 p.m.; and from 1:30-2:25 p.m. on July 27 at Rust College Doxey Auditorium. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Actavatis Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

He leaves his spouse, Linda Brown; a daughter, Thia C. Brown of Cordova, Tenn.; four sons, Gary Brown Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Chris Campbell of Charlotte, N.C., Colain D. Brown of San Diego, Cedric Williams of Bellview, Neb.; two sisters, Betty Ruth Lewis and Minyong Brown, both of Clarksdale; two brothers, Thomas Brown of Lincoln, Neb., Archie Brown of Clarksdale; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
