Fred Falkner Sr.

Fred Falkner Sr., 96, of Holly Springs, died May 9, 2026, at his home in the Marianna community. He was a member of Smith Grove MB Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the male chorus. He was a retired farmer.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on May 22 from 3-6 p.m. and on May 23 at Smith Grove MB Church from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Pastor Michael Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves a daughter, Karen Newsom of Memphis, Tenn.; sons, Alvin Falkner, Cedric Falkner (Almetta), Gerald Falkner, all of Holly Springs, Tracy Falkner, Fred Falkner Jr., both of Memphis, Calvin Falkner (Patrice), of Holly Springs; sisters, Doris L. Reynolds of East St. Louis, Ill., Armenia Alexander of Aurora, Ill.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie M. Bowen Falkner; daughter, Gwendolyn Falkner; siblings, Odell Falkner, L.C. Falkner, Harmon Falkner, Frank Falkner, Felix Falkner, Percy Falkner, Lee Ester Falkner, Laura Mae Horne, Lula Mae Reynolds, Ora Falkner, and Mary Ellen Tuggles.
