Evelyn James Jones

Evelyn James Jones, 83, of Holly Springs, died Sept. 19, 2020, at her home. She was a member of Mt. Peel MB Church in Holly Springs, where she served on the mothers' board and as a church usher. She was a member of Independence/Chulahoma Order of Eastern Star and a former factory worker at Sunbeam Inc. for over 20 years.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Sept. 25 from 12-2 p.m.; and at Mt. Peel MB Church from 4-6 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 26 at Mt. Peel MB Church Cemetery. Rev. Rondias Cox will officiate.

She leaves five daughters, Dorothy Jackson of Preston, Linda Jeffries, Loretha Jones, both of Memphis, Tenn., Luretha Phillips, Versheta Cistrunk, both of Olive Branch; three sons, James E. Jones of Holly Springs, Anthony T. Jones, Patrick D. Jones, both of Byhalia; four sisters, Mae Lucy James, Willean Henderson, Arlean Clark, all of Milwaukee, Wisc., Verlene Hibbler of Holly Springs; two brothers, Willie A. James of Holly Springs, Arthur S. James of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
