Evangelist Ellen Jean Falkner Smith

Evangelist Ellen Jean Falkner Smith, 77, of Holly Springs, formerly of Chicago, Atlanta, and Norwalk, Calif., died April 17, 2026, at her home. She was a member of Smith Grove MB Church where she sang in the choir. She was a secretary at ACE Hardware.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on May 1 from 3-6 p.m. and on May 2 at Smith Grove MB Church from 1010:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. J.W. Terry will officiate.

She leaves her husband, Rev. Robert E. Smith; son, Michael Edward Smith of Holly Springs; brother, Frank Falkner of Norwalk, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jason Edward Smith; siblings, Eddie Lee Falkner, James Falkner, Minnie Lou Harris, Celestine Falkner, Morestine Vaughn, Magnolia Smith, and Vaulia Mae Jeffries.
