Emma Jean Lowe Settle

Emma Jean Lowe Settle, 73, of Corinth, died June 12, 2019, at The Meadow in Fulton. The widow of James Walton Settle, she was a member of Macedonia MB Church and member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a longtime pianist at Providence MB Church, a member of gospel groups Heavenly Voices and Great Wings of Joy. She was a retired school teacher in the Marshall County School system.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on June 19, at Macedonia MB Church. Bishop Kenneth Carter officiated. Burial was in Corinth National Cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves three sons, Kerry Patton of Trussville, Ala., Konson Patton of Nashville, Tenn., Allen Settle of Selmer, Tenn.; three daughters, Kalita Vangas of Stone Mountain, Ga., Kela Settle of Tupelo, Matissa McCord of Virginia; one sister, Albertine "Peaches" Lowe of Bethel Springs, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Private First Class Kolben Patton, U.S. Marine Corps; and one brother, James Lowe.
