Elmon Lee Reaves
Elmon Lee Reaves, 92, of Lamar, died November 21, 2024, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was a member of Everett Chapel MB Church, he served as an usher, deacon, in maintenance and lawn care. He worked in maintenance at Burny Brothers Bakery in Chicago, Ill.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 30 at Greenwood MB Church in Lamar with sevices at 11 a.m. Burial will be in New Life Christian Center Cemetery in Ashland. Serenity Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his sons, Elmon Reaves Jr. (Dria) of Chicago, Tommy Moore (Angela) of Sioux Falls, SD; daughters, Janie Burks (Dan) of Carrollton, Ga., Nilene Woods Meeks (Donald) of Memphis, Tenn., Evelyn Noble of Harvey, Ill., Teresa Fondern of Kissimmee, Fla., Paula Moore (Earl) of Chicago, Jacqueline Reaves of Norfolk, Va., Stacy Noble of Markham, Ill.; brother, Frank Reaves of Ashland; sisters, Hattie Hampton, Fannie Tipler, both of Ashland, 19 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel B. Reaves; brothers, Willie Lee Poole, Andrew Reaves Jr., Earnest Reaves; and sister, Josey Bee Hampton.
