Elcylean Hamer

Elcylean Hamer, 100, of Michigan City, died Nov. 24, 2022. She was a member of Hardaway MB Church where she served on the mother board.

Visitation will be held on Dec. 2 from 4-6 p.m. at Serenity- Autry Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Hardaway MB Church. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery.

She leaves five daughters, Malinda Shield (Rally), Ester Avery, Jeanette Hamer, all of Chicago, Ill., Marylean Payne (Barry) of Lamar, Virginia Gibson of Michigan City; three sons, L.B. Hamer (Arlean), Cater Hamer (Mary), Troy Hamer (Sarah), all of Michigan City; 36 grandchildren, and 75 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Hamer; daughters, Bonnie Webb, Jennie Gibson; son, George Poplar; sisters, Sallie Hoyle, Louise McKinnie; brothers, Cater Poplar, A.C. Poplar; grandchildren, Frederick Hamer, Teresa Hamer, Eddie Byers Jr., Bria Hunter, Tristan Walker, and Wilmontre Hamer.
