Eddie Woods

Eddie Woods, 68, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died Feb. 18, 2019. He was a member of Hopewell No. 1 Baptist Church. He was the lead guitar player for many different star singers and church groups.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 2 at Isom Chapel CME Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Michael Adams officiated. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Rev. Gloria Moore Woods; five sons, Calvin Woods, Tracy Woods, Marcus Woods and Jeremy Woods, all of Atlanta, Ga., Chris Johnson of Holly Springs; one daughter, Tiffany Turnbough Meachie of Atlanta; one stepdaughter, Springs James Payne (Brandon) of Memphis; one stepson, Ka'Wuan Mosley of Memphis; three brothers, Herman Woods (Jeanette), Clarence Woods and Albert Woods, all of Holly Springs; five sisters, Flossie Woodson of Holly Springs, Doris Reed of Horn Lake, Margaret Woods of Memphis, Carol Rooks (Walter) and Sandra Woods, both of Holly Springs; 36 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
