Eddie Wayne Cathey

Eddie Wayne Cathey, 62, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., formerly of Ashland; died January 16, 2022, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. He was an inventory maintenance handler at United Technologies.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 23 at Mt. Zion CME Church Cemetery in Ashland. Rev. Willie Smith officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Angela Workman Cathey; three daughters, Felicia Watkins of Shiloh, Ill., Michelle Cathey-Tate of Belleville, Ill., Tijuana Metelko of Odenton, Md; son, Jason Cathey of Memphis, Tenn.; four sisters, Leigh Cathey of Madison, Ala., Mary Evans of Ashland, Mattie Woods of New Albany, Bobbie Martin of Potts Camp; three brothers, Robert H. Cathey of Ashland, Jimmy Cathey of Potts Camp, Wendell Cathey of Leavenworth, Kan.; and nine grandchildren.
