Earnestine Hampton Evans

Earnestine Hampton Evans, 75, of Holly Springs, died Aug. 17, 2020, at her home. She was a member of Greenwood MB Church in Lamar, a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, member of church choir, first lady at Antioch MB Church in Blue Mountain. She was a seamstress at Landau Company in New Albany.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Aug. 20 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Aug. 21 at Evans Family Cemetery in Holly Springs. Dr. Lamar Walker will officiate.

She leaves her husband, Rev. Huston G. Evans; two daughters, Patricia Thomas and Stephanie Eates (Jerry) of Tupelo; three sons, Jarvis “Ray” Evans, Nicholas Evans both of Holly Springs, Perry Everett of Ashland; three sisters, Dallie Peterson of Ashland, Dorothy Clardy, Lora Wilson, both of Michigan City; five brothers, George Hampton, Willie James Hampton, Charles Hampton, all of Ashland, Raymond Hampton of Holly Springs, Mozell Hampton of Michigan City; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Hampton, John Albert Hampton; and one sister, Lee Francis Turner.
