Dr. Gemma Douglas Beckley

Dr. Gemma Douglas Beckley, 80, of Holly Springs, died February 18, 2026, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Links Inc., and the Holly Springs School board. She was a retired professor at Rust College.

Visitation will be held at Doxey Auditorium at Rust College on Feb. 25 from 12 noon until 12:55 p.m. with services at 1 p.m. Minister Christian Beckley Lampley, and Rev. Zachery Beasley, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Dr. David L. Beckley; daughters, Jacqueline Abdullah of Birmingham, Ala., Lisa BeckleyRoberts of Jackson; two grandchildren, Christian Beckley Lampley and David Amari Roberts.
