Dr. Flora Judon-Holden
Dr. Flora Judon-Holden, 82, of Portland, Oregon, formerly of Potts Camp, died Dec. 21, 2016, at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland. The widow of A.D. Holden, she was a member of Fellowship Church in Portland and a former member of Reid’s Gift MB Church in Potts Camp. She was a minister and professor at Jacksonville Theological Seminary and BTU International College of Ministry, a member of Ester Circle, a women’s religious organization, and a member of national, Mississippi and Oregon education associations. She was a retired minister and teacher in the Marshall County and Portland School Systems.
Services were held at 12 noon on Jan. 4 at Potts Camp High School gym. Burial was in Reid’s Gift MB Church Cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two daughters, Dr. Mary Ayala, Sheila Holden, both of Portland; two sons, Joseph Holden of Portland, Phillip Holden of Carbondale, Ill.; a sister, Bell Clark of Sacramento, Calif.; four brothers, Dan Judon, Shane Judon, Jackie Judon, all of Ecru, Homie Joe Judon of Racine, Wisc.; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Alton “Chucky” Holden.
