Dorothy Mae Hampton

Dorothy Mae Hampton, 77, of Lamar, died August 2, 2021, at Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Greenwood MB Church. She was a homemaker.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 7 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Samuel Chapel MB Church Cemetery in Ashland. Rev. Jalen Pope officiated.

She leaves her husband, Jimmie Norton; children, Lavonne H. Walls (John Evans), Darnella Pittman (Charles), Essie Hampton, Lavell Norton; three stepchildren, Vanessa, Earl and Tim; siblings, Mattie Godwin, James Earl Hunt, William Hunt Jr., Levi Taylor Jr. (Deloris); 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vera Warren; siblings, Johnnie B. Hunt, Bobbie Sue Hughes, Roy Lee Cole and Leandrew Hunt.
