Derrick Lanard "Boo" Beard

Derrick Lanard "Boo" Beard, 51, of Potts Camp, died February 6, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Union County Hospital in New Albany. He was a member of Reids Gift MB Church in Potts Camp and a member of New Albany Order of Masonic Lodge #254. He was the owner/operator of Beard's Auto Detail Shop.

Visitation will be held at Reids Gift MB Church on Feb. 12 from 4-7 p.m. and on Feb. 13 at Jessie L. Jackson Community Center at the Old Sims School from 9-9:55 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. Rev. Jerry Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Reids Gift MB Church Cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his daughters, Taneisha Jones of Puyallup, Wash., Brianna Beard, Shaquanna Jones, both of Byhalia; sons, LaDarrius Beard of Lexington, Ky., Jeremy Beard of Holly Springs, Derrick Beard Jr. of Byhalia; mother, Mary L. DeBerry Beard of Potts Camp; and sister, Laquita Boles of New Albany.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence "Fat Sam" Beard.
