Dennis Ray “Grey Bird” Walker

Dennis Ray “Grey Bird” Walker, 55, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 11, 2018, at his home. A Navy veteran, he was a member of Hamilton Chapel CME Church in Waterford and a member of the All Star softball team. He was employed with the supply chain, XPO Logistics, in Memphis, Tenn.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 17 at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Lesha Agnew officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a daughter, Ashley Walton Freeman (Chris) of Douglasville, Ga.; five sisters, Janice Walker of Holly Springs, Elaine Williams (Henry) of Oxford, Mary Collie (Raymond) of Houston, Texas, Carol Jean Whaley (Sammie) of Potts Camp, Patricia Moton of Holly Springs; two brothers, Delois “Blade” Walker of Memphis, Charles Walker (Cathy) of Holly Springs; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Pearl Walker.
