David "Pop" Ashford Jr.

David "Pop" Ashford Jr., 92, of Coldwater, died October 4, 2022, at his home. He was a member of Hopewell MB Church in Coldwater and a retired construction worker.

Services were held at 12 p.m. on Oct. 10 at Hopewell MB Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his daughters, Carolyn Davis of Coldwater, Armelia Newson of Byhalia, Anita Ashford of Desoto, Texas, Joyce McCain of Robinsonville, Sherry Hamilton of Arlington, Texas, Cora Jackson of Baton Rouge, La.; sons, Perry Ashford of Coldwater, Carlos Ashford of Olive Branch, Dale Ashford of Senatobia, Samuel Johnson of Olive Branch, Terry Ashford of Washington, D.C.; brothers, Otis Baldwin of Ackerman, Ronnie Baldwin of Atlanta, Ga.; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
