David Kimbrough III

David Kimbrough III, 54, of Holly Springs, died July 4, 2019. He was a Cotton Patch Soul Blues musician. He started playing blues at the age of 6. He played with his brothers known as the Kimbrough Brothers band.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on July 13 at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministry. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pastor Dewitt Glover officiated. Burial was in Kimbrough Chapel MB Church Cemetery in Lamar.

He leaves six daughters, Tahlish (Nicholas) Clark of Memphis, Tenn., Jelissa Smith of Holly Springs, LaTasha Burnside of Coldwater, LaMiracle Burnside of Potts Camp, Carlisha Martin of Chulahoma, Autumn Adams of Potts Camp; three sons, Elias Tables of New Albany, Frederick Martin of Corinth, David Kimbrough IV of Juneau, Alaska; four sisters, Earlean Martin of Potts Camp, Stephanie Taylor of Holly Springs, Patricia Kimbrough Hawthorn of Memphis, Andrena Stinston of Hickory Flat; eight brothers, James (Tamekia) Malone of Hickory Flat, Anthony Malone of Holly Springs, Conniel Malone of Houston, Texas, Kinney Kimbrough of Holly Springs, Rev. Larry (Celestine) Kimbrough of Dallas, Texas, Robert Kimbrough Sr. of Ashland, Gary Campbell Bryson of San Diego, Calif., Larry Washington of Holly Springs; his stepfather, John Lee Dowdy; his godmother, Annie Moffitt; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Effie Mae Kimbrough Gray.
