CURTIS LORENZO BYERS, SR.
Curtis Lorenzo Byers, Sr., 66, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in the presence of family. He was born and reared in Holy Springs, MS, but lived his adult life in Houston, TX as a husband, father, grandfather, and retiree of Metropolitan Transit Authority of 27 years as an Engineer, 3rd Agreements Coordinator.
Visitation will occur at Anderson Chapel CME Church, Holly Springs, MS on July 2, 2023, from 1:30-2:25 p.m. with services following at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Johnny Poole will be the eulogist.
He leaves his wife, Frances Mills Byers; daughters, Bridget Woods (John) of Olive Branch, MS and Ashley Byers of Charlotte, NC; sons, Curtis L. Byers, Jr. of Houston TX and Byron Byers (Lisa) of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Johnathon Woods and Janiyah Woods of Olive Branch, MS; Cameron Byers, Canden Byers, Taylor Byers, Brooklyn Byers, and Jordan Byers of Houston, TX; Benjermin Byers and Issa Byers of San Diego, CA; sisters, Attorney Shirley Byers of Holly Springs, MS, Brenda Gipson (Malvin) of Collierville, TN, and Cassandra Mason of Memphis, TN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Homer W. Byers, Sr.; mother, Estelle Adams Byers; brother, Homer W. Byers, Jr.; grandparents, J.B. and Clara Moore Adams and Roosevelt and Ilene Byers; and brother-in-law Shaun Derrick Mason.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his name to Texas Southern University, Houston, TX or the Alzheimer's Association. J.F. Brittenum & Son and Signature Memorial Chapel of Houston, TX are in charge of arrangements.
