Curtis Lee Jones

Curtis Lee Jones, 85, of Byhalia, died July 5, 2025, at his home. He was a member of Hearn Grove MB Church where he served as a deacon, was a choir member, bus driver and on the finance committee. He was retired from Memphis Light, Gas and Water.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on July 11 from 1-5:30 p.m. and on July 12 at Hearn Grove MB Church from 9-9:55 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. Rev. Scott Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Emma Jean Harris Jones; daughters, DeLois Lane of Memphis, Tenn., Barbara Etta Richmond, Letitia Joy Jones, both of Byhalia; sons, Melvin Lee Jones, Roy Chester Jones, both of Byhalia, Alfred Lydell Jones, of Memphis; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Curtis Jones; siblings, Arthur Jones, Clifton Jones, Bobby Jones, Booker T. Dortch, Bertha Jones and Flora Jones.
