Clyde Lee Porter

Clyde Lee Porter, 88, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Waterford, died May 25, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. The widower of Frankie McGhee Porter, he was a retired small engine mechanic at Sears Roebuck and Company.

Visitation will be June 1, from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home; and on June 2 at the church from 9-9:55 a.m.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on June 2 at Greenwood CME Church in Memphis, where he was a member. Burial will be in Hamilton Chapel CME Church Cemetery. Pastor Bethel Harris will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves two sons, Craig Porter, Darryl Porter, both of Memphis; two daughters, Cora Bowens of Memphis, Dorothy Palmer of Waterford; two sisters, Maggie Adams, Josephine Boone, both of Holly Springs; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Emmitt Porter, Howard Mayfield Porter and Willie M.C. Porter.
