Clarence Scruggs Jr.

Clarence Scruggs Jr., 80, of Lamar, died January 25, 2022, at Alliance HealthCare System. He was a retired security officer.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 5 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Williams officiated. Burial was in New Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn.

He leaves three sons, Lee Eric Scruggs, Andre Kyles Scruggs, Renee Scruggs (Audrey); four brothers, Luster Scruggs, Billy Scruggs (Ruby), both of Memphis, Tenn., Andrew Scruggs (Ernestine) of Ashland, Charlie Scruggs (Shelqueta) of Holly Springs; sisters, Delois Taylor (Levi), Barbara Evans, both of Lamar; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Scruggs; son, Clarence Scruggs; brothers, J.W. Scruggs, Jack Walter Scruggs, William Scruggs; sisters, Willie Mae Williams, Wilma Evans, and Lillie Mae Lesure.
