Christopher Matthew Long

Christopher Matthew Long, 31, of Byhalia, formerly of Oakland, Calif., died Dec. 5, 2016, at Hwy. 309 N. and Deer Creek Road in Byhalia. An assistant manager at Dollar General Store in Barton, he was a member of Second Bethel MB Church in Oakland.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 12 at Union Valley MB Church in Byhalia. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his mother, April Faye Oliver Long of Byhalia; a sister, Sharissa Long of Las Vegas, Nev., a brother, Thomas Long of Walnut Creek, Calif.; a stepsister Sherrie Smith of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Dr. Charles and Naomi Oliver of Byhalia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Lee Long and his paternal grandparents, Freddie and Annie Jean Long.
