Chester Gene Jones

Chester Gene Jones, 69, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died December 22, 2023 at Highlands Health and Rehab Center in Memphis. He was a member of Isom Chapel CME Church and a truck driver for Ideal Chemical Company.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 30 at Isom Chapel CME Church. Rev. Michael Adams officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Gertha Glover Jones; daughters, Levida Jones-Askew (Quentin), Natasha Jones-Martin, both of Memphis; son, Jason Blake (Jaymese) of Lexington; sisters, Ailean Gatewood, Annette Tucker, Jeanette Isom, all of Holly Springs, Maelean Brooks, Jessie Mae Davis, Jimmie Wallace, Annie S. Walker, Minnie Luellen, all of Memphis; brother, Christopher Jones of Memphis; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Annie Hughes Jones; siblings, Paulette Mayes, Columbus Jones and Willie Melvin Jones.
