Charles Edward Robinson
Charles Edward Robinson, lovingly known as “Chuck,” was born in Red Banks, MS on October 21, 1944, to Thomas and Katie Robinson. He was the youngest of 16 children, including six brothers (Clarence, Alfred, Samuel, James, Othello, and Hubert) and ten sisters (Evelyn, Lydia, Brunetta, Willana, Amelda, Wilma, Doris, Jean, Vanette, and Elizabeth).
After graduating from Holly Springs High School in 1962, Chuck moved to Chicago, IL before eventually relocating to Memphis, Tenn. In 1992, he moved to Kansas City, MO, with his wife, Ronne. In 2006, he retired and moved back to Holly Springs before spending the remainder of his years in Memphis.
Chuck spent 45+ years as a master of auto body repair and paint. He was also an avid racer in his prime and could often be found at the Holly Springs Motorsports Park. His auto shop and the dragstrip were his passions. He loved football, basketball, jazz music, and rock music, earning the nickname “Steppenwolf” (or “Wolf”) from his shop buddies. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Ronne, and his children: Angela, Chariece, Ca’Tron (Aarika), Justin, Brian (Shanequa), Meagan, and Katie (Bishop), as well as his bonus daughter Angie (Glen). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren: Ashley, Lauren, Andrew, Coco, Nia, Amya, Armond, Alex, Adron, Kharter, Brian Jr., Logan, Lennox, Luca, Kannon, Arlo, Ira, and Zoie; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
Chuck passed away on October 18, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. We cannot form into words the immense pain of his passing. He will be tremendously missed but forever loved.
