Catherine Payne

Catherine Payne, 101, of Holly Springs, formerly of Chicago, Ill., died April 28, 2019, at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. She was the oldest member of Anderson Chapel CME Church, a parts handler for Yellow Cab Company in Chicago.

Visitation will be held on May 1, from 1-5:30 p.m. at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home; and on May 2 from 10 until 10:55 a.m. at Anderson Chapel CME Church. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Rev. William S. Banks will officiate. Burial will be in New Hope CME Church Cemetery in Red Banks.

She leaves her nieces and caregivers, Gladys Payne of Holly Springs, Sheila Payne Jackson and Jacqueline Payne, both of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Hazel Payne, Tommie Payne, Sammie Payne, Lloyd Payne, James Payne; four sisters, Flordia Payne, Willie B. Justice, Cleo Wicks and Lena Desazer.
