Cartica Kermar Kimmons

Cartica Kermar Kimmons, 48, of Byhalia, died Dec. 5, 2017, at Veterans Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. A retired 26-year veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of South Ashland Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 9 at Miracle Temple Salt & Light Ministries, with burial in Macedonia CME Church Cemetery in Ashland. Bro. William Colburn officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a child, Caiden Noel Kimmons of Olive Branch; his father, Junior L. Kimmons of Holly Springs; three sisters, Lucy Walls of Ashland, Betty Yates, Ella Niece Kimmons, both of Holly Springs; two brothers, Michael W. Kimmons of Huntsville, Ala., Billy D. Kimmons of Ashland and his finacée Sonia Henry of Southaven.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Aurthretta Williams Kimmons; and four siblings, John Kimmons, Curtis “Rickey” Kimmons, Brenda Crawford, and Daffney Harris.
