Carl Dowland

Carl Dowland, 101, of Hernando, died Nov. 22, 2019, at Germantown Methodist Hospital in Tenn. The widower of Lorene Dowland, he was a member of the Church of Christ, a farmer, and a U.S. Army veteran.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 27 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.

He leaves two sons, Carl Dowland (Cynthia) of Ackworth, Ga., Charles Dowland of Collierville, Tenn.; five daughters, Syndia Mask (Will) of Mt. Pleasant, Brenda Bishop of Benton, Ark., Linda Burns (Tom) of Morrilton, Ark., Monda Woods (Jim) of Collierville, Debbie Dowland of Hernando; one sister, Jane Luckado of Crandall, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dowland.
