Burt L. Davis Sr.

Burt L. Davis Sr., 73, of Olive Branch, formerly of Holly Springs, died January 21, 2025, at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital. He was a member of Cooper Chapel CME Church where he sang in the choir. He was a former deacon at Greater Love MB Church and a bus driver for Pace Fox Valley in Aurora, Ill.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Jan. 31 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. and on Feb. 1 at Cooper Chapel CME Church, 8866 Pigeon Roost Road, Olive Branch from 9-9:55 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. Rev. Morris Stephens will officiate. Burial will be in Charity Hill Cemetery in Lake Center.

He leaves his wife, Shirley M. Davis; sons, Burt L. Davis Jr. of Duluth, Ga., Tavarras Davis of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Josephine Bisch of Decatur, Ga., Jacqueline Davis, Priscilla Jackson, both of Lake Center; brother, Turl Davis of Lake Center; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorthell McGowan, Jane Boga, Catherine Jefferson, Blaine Davis, and Frank Davis.
