Bishop Charles Richard Phillips

Bishop Charles Richard Phillips, 68, of Aurora, Ill., formerly of Holly Springs, died Dec. 2, 2016, at Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora. He attended Henry High School in Byhalia.

He owned and managed the Covenant House Transitional Living Facility for Men in Aurora. He was also owner and manager of Phillips Hair Studio for over 30 years. He served as the president of the Neighborhood Inner Circle Association. 

He leaves his wife, L. Marie Phillips; his sons, Paul Spizer and Terrence (Lisa) Davenport of Chicago, Ill.;  daughters,  LaTresa Phillips, and Shereese Pryor both of Aurora, three brothers, Joseph C. Phillips, Hase E. (Bertha) Phillips, Morris A. (Fannie) Phillips; two sisters, Marce L. (Michael) Armstrong of Aurora, Quine C. (Russell) Shaw of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Linwood King.
