Billy Wayne “Big Soul” Sessom

Billy Wayne “Big Soul” Sessom, 64, of Byhalia, died Sept. 28, 2018. He played the tuba at Independence High School and was a dedicated worker at the Mid-South Fairgrounds in Memphis, Tenn., for many years. He later joined the staff at Memphis Furniture Moving Co.

Memorial services were held Oct. 6 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel. Minister David Jamison officiated.

He leaves three sons, Lamonte Danté Loveberry (Laquisha) of Atlanta, Ga., Billy Joe Sessom (Sakandra) of Hinesville, Ga., Brandon Sessom (Marquisha) of Horn Lake; three brothers, Chester Sessom of Washington, D.C., Larry Pryor of Byhalia and Barry Pryor of Maywood, Ill.; five sisters, Louise Richmond of Ky., Remal Boyd, Fnesa Newsom (Whitt), all of Coldwater, Lue K. Thomas (James) of Woodstock, Ga., Dena K. Phillips of Horn Lake; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Joyce Kimbrough and Dorothy Dandridge; and a brother, Calvin “Joe Joe” Pryor.
