Betty Oliver Settles

Betty Oliver Settles, 73, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died May 2, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was a retired manager for the Department of Tourism for the State of Tennessee.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on May 11 at Awakening Church in Holly Springs. Rev. Billy Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She leaves three children, Kamela Settles of Memphis, Celisa Oliver of Byhalia, Ervin Settles of Carbondale, Ill.; 10 sisters, Martha Leggett of San Diego, Calif., Loretta Love of Memphis, Vivian Oliver Asamoah of Glendale, Calif., Paula Bondurant and Faye Alexander, both of Cairo, Ill., Helen Merriweather and Angela Box, both of Carbondale, Deloris Oliver of Cordova, Tenn., Michelle Mitchell of Decatur, Ill., Joetta Cryer of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; and two brothers, Sylvester Oliver Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., and Anthony Carl Oliver of Byhalia.
