Betty Jean Withers Johnson

Betty Jean Withers Johnson, 75, of Holly Springs, died October 17, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was a member of Spring Hill MB Church in Senatobia where she served as church mother. She was a retired educator with Tunica County Schools.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Oct. 26 from 3-6 p.m. and at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building on Oct. 27 from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Pastor Mark Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

She leaves three daughters, Bernita Fountain, LaFiesta Johnson, both of Holly Springs, Freida Johnson of San Diego, Calif.; one son, Frederick Johnson of San Diego; two sisters, Edna B. Jones, Willie Eva Payne, both of Holly Springs; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Johnson; brothers, L.B. Gulledge, Alvin "Bubba" Gulledge and Bob Withers.
