Betty Jean Wicks Walton

Betty Jean Walker, 70, of Springfield, Ill., formerly of  Holly Springs, died May 21, 2018. She was employed with Western Electric and retired from Swift in 2002.  She was a 1966 graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School in Holly Springs. She was a  member of Miracle Temple COGIC in Springfield.                                      

Services were held at 11 a.m. on June 2 at Greater Mt. Olive COGIC in Aurora, Ill., where she was a former member. Burial was in Spring Lake Cemetery. Rev. Victoria Turner and Servant George Rayford officiated. James Funeral Home of Aurora was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves five daughters, Jackie Forrest (Billy), Sharonda Burns, Tara and Tia Walton, all of Springfield, Tiffany Walton of Montgomery, Ill.; two sons, Clevon Walton (Nore), Cedric Walton (Katrina), all of Aurora; six brothers, Feldon Wicks (Juanita) of St. Louis, Mo., Oliver Wicks (Barbara), Tommy Ray Robinson (Gwen), all of Holly Springs, Gary Wicks (Mary) of Flint, Mich., Michael Robinson (Holly) and Freddie Robinson, all of Aurora; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Vorece Glover and three brothers, K.C. Wicks Jr., Morris Wicks and Ronnie Robinson.
