Betty Jean Porter Hamer

Betty Jean Porter Hamer, 81, of Holly Springs, died July 11, 2022, at her home. She was a member of Providence MB Church and a retired dietician for Holly Springs School District.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on July 15 at Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Jeremy Bowen officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her daughters, Vickie Ann Porter, Sharon Hamer, both of Holly Springs; children she raised, JaJuan Porter, Marcus LaMonte Porter, Johnny Zinn Jr., Eric Zinn Jr., Jarvarus Kimmons, Demetric McClinton, Morghan Pryor, all of Holly Springs, Jerry Hamer of Red Banks, Clayteen Hamer, Maurice Hamer, Valarie Hamer, all of Memphis, Tenn; sister, Bessie Collins of Memphis; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Hamer.
