Bertha Lee Stewart Lester

Bertha Lee Stewart Lester, 77, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 8, 2019, at her home. She was a member of Yarbrough Chapel CME Church, a graduate of Mississippi Industrial College, past president of Ministers Spouses Association, member of Heroines of Jericho Court 38, where she served as Matron, and a member Marshall County Retired Teachers Association. She was a retired educator in the Marshall County School System at H.W. Byers.

Visitation will be held Nov. 14 from 1-7 p.m. at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home; with the family from 6-7 p.m.; and Nov. 15 at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries from 12-12:55 p.m. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Rev. Joe T. Lester will officiate. Burial will be in Yarbrough Chapel CME Church Cemetery.

She leaves her husband, Rev. Joe T. Lester; four daughters, Shirley Burton, Johnnie Houston, Aretha Lester and LaTosha Blake, all of Holly Springs; four sons, Eric Lester of Holly Springs, Thomas Lester of Memphis, Tenn., Antjuan Lester and Rod Lester, both of Holly Springs; four sisters, Dorothy Nevels of Holly Springs, Mildred Guy of Byhalia, Lenora Currie and Dianne Brown, both of Memphis; one brother, Stanely Stewart of Lewisburg; 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Jones and Georgia DeBerry; and three brothers, Johnny Stewart, Robert Stewart and James Stewart.
