Bertha B. Cox Alexander

Bertha B. Cox Alexander, 73, of Holly Springs, died December 25, 2021, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch. She was a member of Chulahoma MB Church where she served on the mother's board. She was retired from Emerson Inc. in Oxford.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2022, at Chulahoma MB Church Cemetery. Rev. Lonnie Whitfield officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves two daughters, Lakita Rucker, Shaunna Alexander (Carnell), both of Holly Springs; two sisters, Loice Nelson, Leaser English, both of Memphis, Tenn.; seven brothers, Lawrence Cox of Peoria, Ill., Robert Cox, Lee Vie Cox, both of Holly Springs, Wilkie Cox of Petersburg, Va., Larry Freeman of Memphis, Sylvester Liggins of Augusta, Ga., Jack Liggins of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Lester Jean Martin, Joyce Freeman, Ira Seal Cox, Lee Ester Freeman and Grayland Cox.
