Bennie Zinn Jr.

Bennie Zinn Jr., 75, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Holly Springs, died Feb. 8, 2017, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. The widower of Ozell Evans Zinn he was a member of Mt. Justice MB Church in St. Louis, and an entrepreneur.

Visitation will be Feb. 16 from 2-7 p.m. at the funeral home, with family present from 5-7 p.m.; and at the church Feb. 17 from noon until 1 p.m. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 17, at Strawberry MB Church Holly Springs. Rev. Dwight Glover will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife Lana Gleason Zinn of St. Louis; seven sons, Raymond Claxton of Memphis, Tenn., Bennie Zinn III, Bartholomew Alford, Tyrese Zinn, Reginald Gleason, Darryl Gleason, Derrick Gleason all of St. Louis; six daughters, Paula Claxton and Michelle Townsend of St. Louis, Kimberly Zinn Johnson, Sheila Zinn, both of Chicago, Ill., Kristen Wheaterby and Katrina Allen, of St. Louis; three nieces and a nephew who were raised as his siblings, Edna Jones, Betty Jean Johnson, Wileva Payne and Alvin Gulledge Jr.; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by  a sister Gladys Withers; a nephew, L.B. Gulledge, who was raised like a sibling.
