Barbara J. Freeman Rayford

Barbara J. Freeman Rayford, 75, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 30, 2017, at Holly Springs Rehab and Health. Assistant librarian at Rust College, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Holly Springs, an associate member of St. Francis Sisters of Charity, in the church choir, secretary to the Parrish Council, liturgy committee and hospitality committee.

Funeral mass was said at St. Joseph Church at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 4. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Father Leonard Elder officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, James T. Rayford Sr.; three daughters, Paula Rayford of Horn Lake, Sheila Rayford-Caldwell of Memphis, Tenn., LaTonya Lucille Rayford-White of Little Rock, Ark.; three sons, Roger R. Rayford, James P. Rayford, both of Atlanta, Ga., James T. Rayford Jr. of Memphis; a sister, Lois Freeman of Holly Springs; four brothers, Leroy Freeman of Atlanta, Bernard Freeman of Anchorage, Alaska, Herbert Freeman of Memphis, Charles Freeman of Hammond, La.; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four siblings, John E. Freeman, Henry Freeman, Thelma Glasper, and Margaret F. Brown.
