Avis Yvonne Dowsing Lucas

Avis Yvonne Dowsing Lucas, 71, of Holly Springs, died April 3, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Anderson Chapel CME Church where she served on the church usher board, stewardess board and missionary board; and was a member of Heroines of Jericho Court 14. She was an educational clerk at Marshall County Correctional Facility.

Services were held at 12 noon on April 11 at Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building. Rev. William S. Banks officiated. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a son, Lawrence Clark Drummond Jr. of Holly Springs; sisters, Eileen Dowsing of Holly Springs, Dr. Cecilia Dowsing-Adams of Collierville, Tenn.; brother, Lawrence W. Dowsing Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
