Arverne Jones

Arverne Jones, 67, of Red Banks, died December 26, 2023, at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital. He was a member of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ where he served as an ordained elder and on the board of trustees. He was a assistant teacher at Byhalia Elementary School.

Visitation will be held at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ on Jan. 5 from 3-6 p.m. and on Jan. 6 from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Bishop Designate Albert Pass will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Jeryl Pass Jones; children, Jerbrina Jones of Bartlett, Tenn., Jernarra Jones of Red Banks; mother, Annie Jones Richmond of Red Banks; sisters, Deberia RichmondAlexander of Litchfield Park, Ariz., Lasondra Shanae Richmond of Southaven, Sonia Warr, Lisa Patrick-Hughes, Tameka Patrick, all of Memphis, Tenn., Michelle Patrick of Kennasaw, Ga., Carol Briggs-Childs of Orlando, Fla.; brothers, Kelvin Richmond of Red Banks, Perry Patrick of Memphis; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Patrick.
