Arda Odessa Peyton-Thompson Walker

Arda Odessa Peyton-Thompson Walker, 88, of Potts Camp, died Nov. 15, 2019. The widow of James Frank "Shorty" Thompson (1975) and Sid Walker (2018), she was a member of Reid's Gift Missionary Baptist Church. She worked at Wurlitzer and employed with the Marshall County School District for 13 years and Potts Camp Bank for 40 years. She also sang with Bro. Wade and The Gloriettes.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Reid's Gift MB Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jerry L. Williams and Rev. Dr. Bessie Tables officiated. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter, Bessie Tables of Potts Camp; two sons, Jimmy (Nita) Thompson of Crystal Springs, Ronnie (Betty) Thompson of Madison; six stepchildren; a sister, Naomi Lester of Potts Camp; three brothers, Charles Peyton of Dallas, Texas, Gene (Daffodil) Peyton of Fort Worth, Texas, Bernard (Nielja) Peyton of San Diego, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruby Odessa Thompson, Kathleen Thompson-Thomas; a grandson, Roman D. Thompson; five siblings, Mark Peyton, Bennie Peyton, Conley Peyton, Victor Peyton, and Mary Peyton-Vance.
