Annie Jones Spight

Annie Jones Spight, 105, of Holly Springs, died June 22, 2023, at Great Oaks Rehab and Healthcare Center in Byhalia. She was a member of Isom Chapel CME Church where she was a former church secretary, served as church stewardess for over 60 years and 25 years as head stewardess. She was a farmer.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on June 30 from 1-3 p.m. and at Isom Chapel CME Church from 4-6 p.m., and on July 1 at Hudsonville CME Church from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Rev. Michael Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Isom Chapel Church Cemetery.

She leaves her daughters, Delorise Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Sandra Overshown of Boston, Mass.; son, Alex Spight Jr. of Lilburn, Ga.; 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Spight Sr.; children, Leon Spight, Levorn Spight, Arnora Marshall, Evia Spight, Brankley Spight, Raymond Spight, Maenuia Spight; siblings, Elisah Jones, Ezzie Jones, T.Y. Jones, J.T. Jones, Cliff William Jones, Versie Gipson, Mealine Gipson, Magnolia Evans, Ardelia Ambrose and Dessie Bush.
