Ammie Louise Echols Davis

Ammie Louise Echols Davis, 95, of Byhalia, died July 12, 2017, at her home. The widow of Clarence Davis, she was a homemaker and a church mother.

Visitation was held at the church from 12 noon to 12:55 p.m.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on July 20 at Chulahoma MB Church in Holly Springs, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. S.A. Phillips officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves four daughters, Burma Tuggles of Holly Springs, Erma Rayford, Mae Helen Davis, both of Chicago, Ill., Martina Butler of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sons, Leon Davis, Lieutenant Davis, both of Byhalia; two sisters, Othell Faulkner of Holly Springs, Lena Faulkner of  Indianapolis; a brother, Emmerson Echols of Memphis, Tenn.; 33 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 57 great-great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by children: Jimmy Rayford Jr., Ozell Rayford, James Earl Davis, Robert Earl Davis, Adolphus Davis, Clarence Davis Jr., and Willie Hugh Davis.
