Amanda Ella Ingram Malone

Amanda Ella Ingram Malone, 87, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Laws Hill, died May 20, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Memphis. The widow of James Malone, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, former store owner, a member of the Mother Board, Sunday school teacher, youth advisor at church, Women’s Home Improvement Society, and a member of the Marshall County School Board for 24 years. She was a social worker at ICS Head Start.

Visitation will be held May 26 from 2-7 p.m. at the funeral home, and May 27 from 1:30 to 2:25 p.m. at the church.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on May 27 at New Hope MB Church in Laws Hill, where she was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dr. Bessie Tables will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter, Cheryl Washington of Memphis; three sons, Kenneth Malone, Kelsey Malone, both of Memphis, Travis Malone of Jackson; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four children, Lawrence Malone, James R. Malone, Malcolm Malone and Sheila Malone-Richards.
