Alva Edison Gipson

Alva Edison Gipson, 77, died Feb. 4, 2019, at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, United Travelers Motorcycle Club. He was a retired educator with the Marshall County School System after 37 years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 16 at Henry Junior High School Auditorium. Bro. Fredrick Brown will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Armastine Rush Gipson; two children, Sheronda Gipson of Holly Springs, Katina Gipson DeBerry of Slidell, La.; six sisters, Naomi Murphy, Francis Lechay, Revelyn Coleman, all of Memphis, Tenn., Gloria Suggs, Lou Ree Boykins, Evelyn Cummings, all of Holly Springs; four brothers, Quentell Gipson, Clifford Gipson, Clinton Gipson, all of Holly Springs, Elisha Gipson of Nashville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four siblings, Sam Gipson, Knowledge Gipson, Shelby Gipson, and Grace Harvey.
