Alma Marie Ivy Strickland

Alma Marie Ivy Strickland, 84, of Ashland, died Sept. 13, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tenn. The widow of Raymond Strickland, she was president of her church choir, a member of the usher board and a deaconess. She was a retired presser at ABC Manufacturing in Ashland.

Visitation will be Sept. 21 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home, and on Sept. 22 at the church from 10-10:55 a.m.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 22 at Shiloh MB Church in Ashland, where she was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Patrick Washington will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She leaves two children, Hazel Ellis of Memphis, Tenn., Michael Strickland of Ashland; a sister, Arlene Johnson of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Strickland; and seven siblings, William Ivy, Silas Ivy Jr., Thurmon Ivy, Indiana Beard, Katherine Caldwell, Susie Rainer and Margaret Paige.
