Algee Evans

Algee Evans, 83, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Lamar, died Nov. 25, 2017, at his home. He was a member of Sand Hill MB Church in Lamar and he retired as supervisor in 2007, from Memphis Folding Stairs.

Visitation will be Dec. 1 from 2-7 p.m. and with family from 6-7 p.m at the funeral home, and at the church on Dec. 2 from 10-10:55 a.m.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 2 at Greenwood MB Church, where he also attended. Burial will be in the Evans Family Cemetery in Holly Springs. Rev. H.G. Evans will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Vernice Cotton Evans; two children, Linda Williams, Sandra Miller, both of Memphis; three sisters, Janevial Triplett of St. Louis, Mo., Shirley Johnson of Chicago, Ill., Earnestine Scott of Holly Springs; two brothers, Rev. Huston Evans of Holly Springs, Mack Arthur Evans of Memphis; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, Howard Leo Evans Jr., Katie Marie Evans-Johnson and James Curtis Evans.
