Alfred Moore

Alfred Moore, 74, of Holly Springs, died July 9, 2017, at his home. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He received a bachelor’s degree in social science from Rust College and a master’s degree in economics from Atlanta University. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He was executive director of the Holly Springs Housing Authority.

Visitation will be July 14 from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and at Asbury United Methodist Church from 5-7 p.m. On July 15, visitation will continue at Rust College Doxey Auditorium from 2:30 to 3:25 p.m.

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on July 15 at Rust College Doxey Auditorium. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Zachery Beasley will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Barbara Naylor Moore; three children, Alfred Michael Moore of Memphis, Tenn., Courtney Moore, Javonta Moore, both of Holly Springs; a sister, Laverne Bishop of Arlington, Texas; a brother, C.L. Moore of Memphis, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four siblings, Clara Kirksey, Ruthie Pennington, John Edward Moore and Leroy Moore.
